Technical and AI SEO Case Studies
The case studies below come from Dmytro Verzhykovskyi's client work, and each one follows the same path: the symptom, the cause found in Search Console, the logs, or the code, the fix, and how the result was checked. Where an internal detail would expose more of a client than the lesson needs, the client is described rather than named.

Sarelli Textiles: WordPress to Laravel Without Losing a URL
Sarelli Textiles, a textile company affiliated with the Italian furniture house Modenese Gastone, moved its website from WordPress to Laravel, and the final switch-over kept every old URL working and every page's canonical tag intact.
- Problem
- New URL patterns and new page templates arriving in the same release, on a catalog with localized pages.
- Cause
- The new build flattened nested collection paths, mishandled localized pages with non-Latin slugs, and never rewrote the page head, so product and collection pages sent the wrong canonical tags and titles.
- Fix
- A resolver for nested collection paths, exact captures of the localized pages, and a head rewrite based on a verbatim capture of the WordPress heads.
- Result
- On launch day every old URL answered with its page or one intended redirect, and sampled canonical tags matched the originals.
- Checked with
- A status sweep of every sitemap URL on the local build, on staging, and on the live site; a head diff of every URL on staging; a canonical sample on the live site through the CDN.
A Dubai Design Catalog: Closing a Duplicate URL Trap
A design and furniture catalog in Dubai, published in three languages, kept growing its "Duplicate, Google chose different canonical than user" bucket in Search Console, and the cause was a single legacy route in the site's code.
- Problem
- Google kept discovering new near-copies of the catalog and choosing its own canonicals.
- Cause
- A legacy route accepted any string in the URL, returned the full product list for it, declared the page its own canonical, and paginated the result in every language.
- Fix
- Old-format product URLs return one 301 to the right product or category and everything else returns a 404; legacy project URLs got literal redirects; thin listing pages were set to noindex and removed from the sitemap.
- Result
- Sampled URLs from the duplicate bucket reach a live page in one hop, and a category paginator that had run to dozens of bogus pages shrank to its real size.
- Checked with
- Sampled bucket URLs, every homepage link, and the paginators, then Search Console over the following recrawl cycles.
Solomia Home: Product Pages Built for Phones
Solomia Home, a luxury furniture retailer in Dubai, had product pages that loaded slowly on phones, and the cause was in how the site served photos for products imported from supplier catalogs.
- Problem
- Imported product pages were much heavier and slower on phones than the store's own product pages.
- Cause
- The image helper only listed resized versions that already existed on disk, and imported products had none, so galleries sent full-size original photos to every phone.
- Fix
- Width variants generated for every imported photo, originals left untouched, picked up by the product templates without a code change.
- Result
- Imported product pages became a fraction of their former weight and load like the native product pages.
- Checked with
- Mobile lab tests before and after on the same product page, and spot checks of the image variants through the CDN.
